We strongly encourage our members to be part of or
support the local state defense force unit if one is already established in
their state or locality. However, membership or affiliation with a defense
force is not required for SGAUS membership. And, retired or inactive defense
force members can continue to support the cause through membership in this
organization. The SGAUS provides the state defense forces and
others who support a viable state militia system with a unified voice in
dealing with governmental agencies and law makers, as well as creating a
means for communication between the various state defense forces. The SGAUS
objective is to promote in both the public and private sectors the role and
effectiveness of the state defense forces (SDFs). The SGAUS also provides its
members with the opportunity to serve on nationally recognized committees. SGAUS
annual membership dues are $16 for SDF enlisted personnel, $25 for SDF officers,
and $30 for SDF general officers. Dues for civilians or unaffiliated
supporters are $25. The SGAUS annual dues are based on the calendar year.
However, if your payment is received after October 1st, you will be credited
for the following calendar year. Membership in the State Guard Association of the
United States is open to those who favor the revival and development of a
viable state militia system. Any good person, male or female, without
discrimination as to race, national origin, handicap or advanced age is
welcome. Contributions, gifts, or membership dues made or
paid to the State Guard Association of the United States, Inc., are not
refundable or transferable. Donations made to the SGAUS Foundation, Inc. are
tax deductible; see SGAUS Foundation |
